Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Kipchoge (Doomben Race 4 No. 1)
This three-year-old Rich Enuff gelding trained by Tony Gollan has four places from five starts and is very close to a win. At the end of last campaign he was headed at the 150m for 3.3 lengths 3rd over 1350m at Ipswich on 21 October, then resumed after 21 weeks for 0.2 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Doomben on 17 March where the 3rd horse was 5.5 lengths behind. He should be very hard to beat.

Each Way

Say Haya (Doomben Race 6  No. 3):
This four-year-old Rothesay mare has six wins and four places from 23 starts. She came from well back in the field and ran on out wide to just miss for 0.2 length 2nd over 1000m at Sunshine Coast on 27 February, then she hit the front at the 150m and held on for a narrow 0.2 length win over 1100m at Gold Coast on 13 March. She has won at this track and distance and looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Roman Republic (Doomben Race 7  No. 7):
This four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this Class 2 handicap over 1200m. He has only had one race start where he took over at the 100m and won by 2.25 lengths over 1110m at Doomben on 4 March 2020. He returns after over a year and I’m willing to risk him in this field of race-fit horses.

Key Comments The feature is the Listed Sheila Gwynne Classic for fillies & mares (race 6). The track is Good and the rail is +5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Siren Assault (Ascot Race 1 No. 1) This filly won 2 in a row before a game 5th in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate over 1200m here on 20th April. Provided she can handle the 7 day back-up she will be too good for this field. Check odds on SmartB Analyst:

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Friday 26th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is true. The track is in the soft range. The best bet is halfway through the day and surprised about the odds on offer for it still. Needs to lug weight but is a huge hope against this field. Best Bet Arctic Legend (Tamworth Race 5 No. 2) Steps up in grade but was nothing short of brilliant when resuming from a long break. Suited to this field. Should be able to go right on with things here and
