Our Ipswich Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

See Marie (Ipswich Race 7 No. 11)
Desleigh Forster trains this four-year-old Sebring mare who has four wins and four places from 13 starts. At the end of last campaign she was always well back and didn’t run on when 14.8 lengths 14th in the Group 2 The Roses over 2000m at Doomben on 22 May. She resumed with a 3 length win over 1400m on the Sunshine Coast Poly Track on 1 December. Her second-up record is 2 wins from 3 starts. Ridden by Jim Byrne and looks hard to beat.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Neptune’s Choice (Ipswich Race 5 No. 3):
This five-year-old Kingman gelding trained by Boris Thornton has four wins and six places from 27 starts. He was doing his best work late when he ran on but couldn’t reel in the leaders for 0.7 length 3rd over 1800m at the Gold Coast on 30 October, then ran on from last for 3.2 lengths 3rd over 2000m at Doomben on 13 November. Has a great record at this track with two wins from three runs here, and both wins were at this distance.  Looks a solid each-way bet.

Best Lay

Harlequin Field (Ipswich Race 4 No. 8):
This four-year-old Deep Field gelding trained by Matthew Dunn is the early favourite in this BM 68 Handicap over 1200m. He battled away for 0.9 length 3rd in a BM 64 Hcp over 1200m at Kembla Grange on 2 November, then fought hard for a win on nearly a length when favourite in a Class 1 over 1200m at Grafton on 19 November. This looks harder and I’m willing to risk him.

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Saturday 20th April 2024

Key Comments 8 race card on a good 4 track. The best bet is in the first and looks placed to win off the back of a sound return off a long break. Best Bet Media World (Kembla Grange Race 1 No. 3) This 2yo Colt was sound first up without much luck and looks set for better races than this. Can get the dream run from barrier 1 and break maiden in what is a handy field. Check odds on SmartB

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Saturday 20th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 3 metres and the track is heavy. Just 6 races on the small card and the best bet is in the first. Best Bet Grand Horizon (Taree Race 1 No. 3) Gets barrier 1 and this 4yo Mare boasts 2 placings on the track and looks nicely placed against this bunch. Set to peak and looks primed to get another win and should do no work from the draw. Hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 20th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet comes up in race 3 and only needs a pinch of luck from the barrier to be breaking maiden. Best Bet Beautiful View (Horsham Race 3 No. 1) Needs luck from out there but has been around the mark all this prep and Fry is an ideal booking. Does find the right race here and still looms at backable odds. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker Each

Horse Racing Tips: ACT Friday 19th April 2024

Key Comments The rail is in 4 metres from the 1000-380m mark and true for the remainder. Racing on a soft 5 track. The best bet is early on in the day. Best Bet Greaves (Canberra Race 2 No. 1) Capable of a big finish when on song. The map here looks good from barrier 4 and Owen has options. This race suits and last start rates well enough to take this out. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
