Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Volcanic Rock (Eagle Farm Race 2 No. 9)
This two-year-old Hinchinbrook gelding trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott has a win and a place from three starts. At the end of his first campaign he finished 8.6 lengths 8th in the Inglis Nursery over 1000m at Randwick on 12 December and was found to be lame. After 23 weeks he resumed to finish 0.76 length 2nd over 1300m at Rosehill on 22 May. With natural improvement he will be hard to beat.

Polly Grey (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 2):
This six-year-old grey mare trained by Chris Waller has nine wins and eight places from 31 starts, and has won three of her last four starts. She kept chasing to find the front at the 150m and kept going for a 0.68 length win in the Listed Gosford Gold Cup over 2100m on 8 May, then ran on strongly to win by 0.39 length in the Listed Lord Mayors Cup over 2000m at Rosehill on 22 May. Drops back in distance here but is in such good form she is worth an each-way bet.

Bold Style (Eagle Farm Race 3 No. 5):
This  four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in the QTIS Gold Jewel Handicap over 1300m. He finished 2.7 lengths 4th over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 1 May, then wasn’t far away when 0.6 length 5th over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 29 May. He drops in weight but I’m willing to risk him here.

Likely to race on

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. Expecting all runners to have their chance on the long straight. The feature is the Port Macquarie cup. Best Bet Raf Attack (Port Macquarie Race 8 No. 3) Class of the field and looks a very strong chance in the cup. Gets a suitable run in transit from the draw and has been very nicely placed against this lot. Hard to beat and the odds appeal. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker

Key Comments Looking towards runners that are on speed. The track is in the good range and racing under lights. Multiple maidens kick off the day and the feature race is the Pinker Plate (race 7). Best Bet Basilinna (Cranbourne Race 7 No. 1) Class runner who is 1/1 on this field, flies second up, drawn to be on speed and looks very well placed to notch up a deserved second win.
