This three-year-old Headwater gelding trained by Gary Duncan at this track has three wins and four places from eight starts. He fought on for 0.75, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 1110m at Doomben on 22 May, then hit the front at the 200m and won by 0.8 length over 1000m at Sunshine Coast on 9 June. He has had four starts at this track and distance combination for two wins and two places, and looks the testing material again.

Charleise (Sunshine Coast Race 8 No. 6):
This four-year-old Foxwedge mare mare trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace has five wins and eight places from 18 starts. She ran on strongly to find the front at the 100m and raced away for a 2.5 length win over 1500m at Rosehill with the best overall race sectionals, then ran on best to win by 0.2 lengths in the Listed Spear Chief Handicap over 1500m at Eagle Farm on 5 June. Drawn very wide (barrier 17) but still a great each-way chance.

L’cosmo (Sunshine Coast Race 9 No. 8):
This four-year-old Lonhro mare is the early favourite in this Provincial Sprint Final BM80 Handicap over 1200m. She began well but was winded and finished 5.6 lengths 16th in the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 29 May, then hit the front at the turn and shifted out but held on for a narrow win over 1200m at Sunshine Coast on 18 June where she survived a protest. In her last race she had the inside barrier while here she has the outside one, and I am prepared to risk her.

Best Bet Siren Assault (Ascot Race 1 No. 1) This filly won 2 in a row before a game 5th in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate over 1200m here on 20th April. Key Comments The rail is true. The track is in the soft range. The best bet is halfway through the day and surprised about the odds on offer for it still. Needs to lug weight but is a huge hope against this field. Best Bet Arctic Legend (Tamworth Race 5 No. 2) Steps up in grade but was nothing short of brilliant when resuming from a long break.
