Our Sunshine Coast Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature race is the Listed Tatts Members Cup over 1600m (race 8).

Ligulate (Sunshine Coast Race 8 No. 2)
This five-year-old Domesday gelding has won three of his last four starts and can handle rain-affected going. He won by a narrow 0.2 length margin over 1600m at Doomben on 23 January, then took over at the 200m and raced away for a 2.25 length win over 1815m at Eagle Farm on 6 February. He is drawn wide but normally settles well back in the field  so that should not be an issue. Should be able to add this Tattersalls Members Cup to his winning list.

Each Way

Howonderfullifeis (Sunshine Coast Race 6 No. 2):
This four-year-old Your Song mare has five wins and six places from 18 starts. She resumed from a 17 week spell for 7 lengths 8th over 900m at Gold Coast on 9 January, then hit the front at the 150m and held on to win narrowly over 1050m at Doomben on 11 February. Should be even fitter now and looks a great each-way prospect.

Word For Word (Sunshine Coast Race 1 No. 7):
This five-year-old So You Think mare from the Chris Waller stable is the early favourite in this Class 3 Plate over 1600m. She finished 3.7 lengths 9th over 1800m at Randwick on 9 January, then was winded late for 7.5 lengths 6th over 2000m at Rosehill on 31 January. With four last-start winners in the race she doesn’t offer value.
