Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Shooting For Gold (Eagle Farm Race 7 No. 6)
This three-year-old Shooting To Win gelding trained by Steven O’Dea and Matthew Hoysted at Eagle Farm has four wins and two places from eight starts. He was always well back and didn’t run on when 5.75 lengths 8th over 1300m at Gold Coast on 9 January, then was caught wide early and winded late for 9.1 lengths 12th in the $2m Magic Millions 3YO Guineas over 1400m at Gold Coast on 16 January before being sent to the spelling paddocks. Resumes here after 23 weeks and won a Doomben trial recently. Goes well first-up, returns to a shorter trip and should be very hard to beat.

Subpoenaed (Eagle Farm Race 8 No. 8):
This four-year-old Rip Van Winkle mare trained by Chris Waller has five wins and five places from 21 starts. She finished 0.6 length 2nd in the Group 1 TAB Classic over 1200m at Morphettville on 1 May, then drew barrier 18 in the Stradbroke, was always three and four wide before the turn and then was fifteen wide on straightening. before finishing 1.3 lengths 5th. That was a massive effort and here she starts from barrier 2 and has Hugh Bowman. Looks a great each=way bet.

Tango Rain (Eagle Farm Race 5 No. 2):
This seven-year-old Manhattan Rain gelding is the early favourite in the BOTB Final over 1200m. He has won 13 of his 42 starts and has won his last three races in a row with a 6.5 length win at Mount Isa on 5 April, a 1.75 length win at Mount Isa on 8 May and a 0.2 length win at Rockhampton on 10 June. He has drawn barrier 18 here which will make things hard and I’m prepared to risk him.

Best Bet Indigo Star (Warwick Farm Race 1 No. 4) Happy to take the odds on offer for Indigo Star. Decent effort last time out when running 2nd on the heavy track behind a subsequent winner. Finds the right race here and the form from its debut run is okay. Should take beating.

Best Bet All Too Mysti (Gawler Race 2 No. 7) Finished 0.5 length 2nd at her only start at Murray Bridge after being wide throughout.
