Sakewin | (Sha Tin Race 11 No.12)

I blackbooked this fella after what he did on debut. I think they made the right decision going straight up in grade rather than letting him run with a big weight in Class 4, being a three-year-old gelding. Moreira controlled everything from the outside gate last time out and was way too good for them. He won’t have to do that this time out, drawing much more favourably in a race with little pace, and not to mention, it isn’t a strong Class 4. I think he wins and wins comfortably, just hoping he doesn’t open too short.

Suggested bet: 2.2 units @ $1.90

Next Best

Good News | (Sha Tin Race 2 No.1) / Wonderful Warrior | (Sha Tin Race 2 No.3)

Good News was the best of a beaten brigade behind Run Run Cool last start, and he has since come out and won really well again. But it was his trial over the 1000m that I took some nice notice of, and I think he is ready to put on a who here second-up. He trialled in the visors which he now gets on race day, and he should be just off this hot pace. Think he might come up a nice price. Wonderful Warrior was one we picked out first-up, who snuck in after Moreira admitted he didn’t see the second horse coming up to him late, so no doubt he had more horse under him than what we saw. I think we will see a similar run from him, and his talents will be broadcasted for all to see.

Suggested bet: 0.5 unit @ $8.50 / 1.5 units @ $2.70

The Rest of the Card

Galaxy Witness | (Sha Tin Race 4 No.3) / Prince Alex | (Sha Tin Race 4 No.2)

I think Galaxy Witness picks himself here following a faultless start to his career. He has since had a 56-day break and trialled twice, winning both impressively. This is the best he has drawn since his debut run and the lack of speed means he can pretty much sit wherever he wants. This is a very thin race, and he will be a definite bet, providing he isn’t too short. Prince Alex I blackbooked after his solid Hong Kong debut, running under two lengths back in fifth behind Rock Ya Heart and Five Elements. He has drawn much better, gets Blake Shinn on and I reckon he can sit closer than previously. I reckon he is a good each-way bet depending on the odds and I will be specking him to run a good race.

Suggested bet: No Bet @ $1.45 / 1 unit @ $1.90 (PLACE)

Super Hornet | (Sha Tin Race 9 No.11) / Happy Day | (Sha Tin Race 9 No.2)

I hope I have made the right decision betting into this race. Super Hornet and the in-form Lyle Hewitson went very close to winning last start against rival Happy Day who he meets 3kg better off for the one-length defeat. He will look to sit on pace once again which I think will be beneficial today and I think he is finally ready to win his first race. Happy Day goes in because if they are able to run on he will be right there and his latest trial has drawn me to throw him in here. He will need some luck but with a clear passage, I see no reason outside of potential bias that he can’t be fighting this finish out.

Suggested bet: 0.5 unit @ $8.50 / 1.1 units @ $3.70

Buzzinga | (Sha Tin Race 10 No.1) / Packing Treadmill | (Sha Tin Race 10 No.3) / Keefy | (Sha Tin Race 10 No.2)

Cracking race this one. Buzzinga is a deserved favourite despite giving Packing Treadmill 3kg and Brilliant Way 2kg. He won’t be as far back this time with the ideal draw, so he won’t have as much work to do to get into the race. Weight doesn’t faze this bloke and I reckon he is something special. Packing Treadmill was a complete forgive last start and I am surprised he got as close as he did whilst racing wide without cover. He gets a nice swing on the likely favourite, Purton sticks and there is a real lack of pace in this race so the outside draw should be perfect for him. He could come up a nice price. Keefy is the former Australian galloper having his first start in Hong Kong. Normally I would steer clear of foreigners making their debuts in Class 3, but he rates a genuine top 4 chance, Moreira is sticking with him over Brilliant Way, he has drawn well, and his trials were excellent. He will probably be wanting further, but a big run wouldn’t surprise, and he is definitely a solid place chance.

Suggested bet: 2.1 units @ $1.90 / 0.7 unit @ $6.00 / 0.6 unit @ $7.50
