Our Canberra Racing Tips for Mondays Canberra Cup meeting.

Equation (Canberra Race 6 No. 2)
This three-year-old Press Statement colt trained by Annabel Neasham at Warwick Farm has three wins from his four starts. When resuming after a 35 week spell he chased hard to get there late for a 0.54 length win over 1200m at Gosford on 4 February, then he found the front at the 200m and kept going for a 1.3 length win over 1250m a Canterbury Park on 19 February.  He is a nice type and should be able to win the Canberra Guineas.

Each Way

Aussie Nugget (Canberra Race 7 No. 9):
This five-year-old Dansili gelding has had five wins and five places from 20 starts. He ran on strongly out wide to get up on the line for a 0.2 length win over 1600m at Caulfield on 30 January, then lost 4 lengths when he was slowly away and worked home strong with no room late for 1.75 lengths 4th in the Listed Mornington Cup Prelude over 2000m at Caulfield on 20 February. Last start he looked very unlucky and he looks a nice each-way bet in the Canberra Cup.

Impressive Lass (Canberra Race 8 No. 11):
This three-year-old Real Impact filly trained by Clare Cunningham at Warwick Farm is the early favourite in this Class 1 handicap over 1400m. She finished 0.6 lengths 4th over 1200m at Warwick Farm on 10 February, then won a maiden handicap by 1.97 lengths over 1200m at Wyong on 25 February. This is her first try at the distance and she carries more weight and offers no value here.

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Monday 20th January 2025

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. The best bet comes up towards the end of the day and can resume a winner after a last start flop prior to being sent to the paddock. Best Bet Baggage Handler (Albury Race 7 No. 4) Big win 2 starts back and last time out failed as a very short favourite. Trials have been rock solid since then, including a very good second on this track and looks well placed to take this

Horse Racing Tips: WA Sunday 19th January 2025

Key Comments The feature is the $100,000 Mungrup Sprint over 1300 metres (race 7). The track is rated good and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Parc It In Here (Mount Barker Race 3 No. 3) Tends to settle well back in the field and runs home strongly. Won at Albany 2 starts back then was 0.7 length off the winner last start. The rise in distance should suit and he looks the testing material. Check odds on SmartB

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 19th January 2025
