Track: Soft Weather: Fine

A cracking edition this year that sees hot favourite King Of Sparta looking to make it back to back winners after an impressive effort accompanied by a superb ride. Just Folk creates interest at odds and brings in the right kind of form while Stageman doesn’t know how to run a bad race and has a strong first up record. Shooting For Gold has been struggling to find another win but gets the services of Jamie Kah and Sirius Suspect is a consistent as they come and likely to be fighting out the finish.

1. Just Folk (1)

Brings in some very handy form to this race. Proven fresh and like the efforts around the likes of Superstorm and Marabi. A wetter track would probably be ideal for it but is proven on good footing and looks an outstanding chance at odds.

2. Stageman (2)

Resumes for a new stable and has a very good first up record. First look at the track has to be a query but maps well from barrier 2 and has a very strong strike rate of being in the finish across its career.

3. King Of Sparta (3)

A superb win on a day where the inside probably wasn’t the spot to be. Suited by the drying track, the query here with King Of Sparta is its having its first look at Flemington but he likes big tracks and room to wind up. This race is well within reach and King Of Sparta looks primed to make it back to back wins.

4. Sirius Suspect (6)

Continues to race well and enjoys this track. Ethan Brown has a good affinity with the hore and this track and distance is ideal for it. He will be fighting out the finish.

5. Shooting For Gold (5)

Flemington may just suit Shooting For Gold with its wide open space. Desperately needs another win and has been far from the punters pal of late but a state switch and Jamie Kah on board may just do the trick. Keep safe.

6. Romancer (7)

Known to bob up at odds and went close in this race last year. Hard to catch but also hard to dismiss.

7. Kalkarni Royale (4)

Strong return and has won at this track. $13.00 is over the odds but it also goes to show just how competitive this race is. Can fight out the finish and Daniel Moor is an ideal booking.
