The Alexandra Stakes is a 1600 metre set weights plus penalties race for three-year-old fillies run by the Moonee Valley Racing Club in March. It is held at Moonee Valley as part of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival.

The race was first run on Cox Plate day Saturday 22 October 1983 when Sentimental Lady beat the favourite Mapperley Heights by a short half head, It was called the Carlton Draught Stakes and was held over 1600m at Moonee Valley. Over the years it has had several names – Crown Lager Stakes (1987-1993), Great Western Stakes (1994-1999), Salinger Trophy (2000), Rosemount Estate Trophy (2001), Eliza Park Stakes (2002-2004), Moormoot Stud STakes (2005-2006), Arrow Training Services Stakes (2007-2010) and Jeep Stakes (2011). It was moved from Cox Plate day to the autumn on William Reid Stakes day in March 2013, which means it wasn’t run in 2012. From 2013 onwards it has carried the current name of Alexandra Stakes, and it was upgraded to the current Group 3 status in 2016.
