Richmond Tigers v Collingwood Magpies (Thursday Night)

They are expecting a monster crowd on Friday night when the two biggest clubs in the land meet at the MCG.  Collingwood are now outright premiership favourites following a 2&0 start and a dismantling of the Power by 10 goals at home last week.  The Tigers were too classy for the Crows on the road but have significant injury concerns heading into this.  Martin, Hopper, Broad and Short are all in their top dozen players and all look set to miss.  At this stage of the season Collingwood are the better side and with the injury news I am happy to play them head to head in multis this week.

Suggested Bet – Collingwood H2H (Multis)

Hawthorn Hawks v North Melbourne Kangaroos (Saturday)

Alister Clarkson faces his old side for the first time on Saturday afternoon in Tasmania.  Going off the first two rounds its impossible not to mark North at least a two goal favourite here but there are some mitigating factors.  The Hawks have an extraordinarily good Tasmanian record and will see this as a good opportunity to bounce back after disappointing losses in rounds 1 and 2.  On the contrary North have had two emotional wins and with the trip back across the country from Perth and another away game it is not going to be easy to replicate their round 1 and 2 performances.  Hawthorn with the start is the bet for me here.

Suggested Bet – Hawthorn Line (+11.5)

Adelaide Crows v Port Adelaide Power (Saturday Night)

Looking forward to the Showdown on Saturday night between the two South Australian sides.  It was one win a piece in Showdowns in 2022.  The Crows got home with an after the siren goal from Jordan Dawson the first time around, whilst the Power were comfortable winners when the sides met later in the year.  Adelaide would have been optimistic about winning at least one of their first two in season 2023 but have failed to do so.  Aside from a hot start against the Giants in round 1 and one good patch against Richmond it’s got to be said they have been underwhelming.  Port were awesome round 1 against the Lions at home then really poor against the Pies at the G last week.  I think the bounce back factor could be big for the Power and I am happy to play them in a multi with the Pies.

Suggested Bet – Port Adelaide H2H (Multis)
