Western Bulldogs v St Kilda Saints

Friday 15/7/22 @ Docklands

Last 5 Encounters |  Western Bulldogs 2  |  St Kilda 3

Both sides are off disappointing losses last week.

The Western Bulldogs were uncompetitive for large parts of the game in Sydney, while St Kilda played well against Fremantle in the first half – then were blown away in the second.

Much has been made of the Dogs poor defence this year and there are now some big question marks over the Saints defence with their full back – Dougal Howard – side-lined with a knee injury.  Assuming Josh Bruce returns for the Western Bulldogs, the Saints are likely to have plenty of headaches covering him and Naughton, while King and Membrey could run riot for the Saints down the other end.

Expect there to be plenty of points in this under the roof at Marvel.

Suggested Bet – 1.5 Units Total Match Points OVER 170.5 @ $1.90 (TAB)

Greater Western Sydney Giants V Brisbane Lions

Saturday 16/7/22 @ Manuaka

Last 5 Encounters |  GWS 1  |  Brisbane 4

Another game where I am keen to attack the total points market.

It won’t be warm in Canberra on Saturday afternoon but importantly it will be dry which should ensure a high scoring game.

GWS are playing attacking footy under the interim coach, while six out of the last seven games Brisbane have been involved in have covered the total points line the bookies have set for this.

Furthermore the last two times these sides have played, 194 points or more have been scored in the game.

Suggested Bet – 1.6 Units Total Match Points OVER 174.5 @ $1.88 (Sportsbet)

  • Collingwood (Win)
  • Fremantle (Win)

Adelaide v Collingwood (Collingwood Win) – Adelaide have won just two of their last ten games and those wins came against the bottom two teams on the AFL ladder.

Collingwood have won their last seven and are a great side on the road.  They have defeated Gold Coast and Fremantle away and ran Brisbane to seven points at the Gabba when they were flying earlier in the year.

With Darcy Moore a good chance to come back into their side I expect Collingwood to get the job done over the Crows.

Fremantle v Sydney (Fremantle Win) – Promises to be a cracking game on Saturday night.

Sydney are back playing some good footy however did lose to Essendon in Melbourne two weeks ago.

I thought Fremantle were outstanding against the Saints last Saturday night.  The Saints came hard in the first half and they weathered that storm before kicking away late.

Dockers will be hard to beat back at home.
