Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast

Saturday 21/5/22 @ Ballarat

Last 5 Encounters |  Western Bulldogs 4 | Gold Coast 1

Verdict

The Western Bulldogs host the Gold Coast Suns in another one of their home games in Ballarat.

For those reading this who are not from Victoria, Ballarat is a town about 90 mins out of Melbourne and is renowned for being cold and windy during Winter.

This typically means low scoring contests, like the one in round 6 between the Dogs and the Crows when just 125 points were scored.

Both sides are desperate for a win to break into the eight so this combined with the conditions should equal a low scoring contest.

Suggested Bet – 1 Unit Total Match Points Under 153.5 Points @ $1.88 (Sportsbet)

Richmond v Essendon

Saturday 21/5/22 @ MCG

Last 5 Encounters |  Richmond 5 | Essendon 0

Verdict

The traditional Dream Time at the G clash between Richmond and Essendon takes place on Saturday night.

Essendon had yet another horrible loss last week, losing to Sydney by 58 points.

Richmond continued their resurgence, beating Hawthorn at this venue by 4 goals – their third win in a row.

Anything other than a Richmond win will go completely against recent form.

Suggested Bet – Richmond Win (Multi)

Greater Western Sydney v West Coast

Sunday 22/5/22 @ Giants Stadium

Last 5 Encounters |  GWS 4 | West Coast 1

Verdict

The new interim coach of the GWS Mark McVeigh couldn’t of asked for an easier start than hosting the winless Eagles at Giants Stadium.

They simply have to get this job done, its just a question of by how much.

Happy to play them in multis.

Suggested Bet – GWS Win (Multi)

Hawthorn v Brisbane

Sunday 22/5/22 @ Tasmania

Last 5 Encounters |  Hawthorn 2 | Brisbane 3

Verdict

After a good start to the year the rebuilding Hawks have lost four in a row and are really beginning to paddle.

Brisbane dodged an early scare from the Crows last week in Adelaide but quickly clicked into gear and went onto win by 6 goals.

The Hawks jumped Brisbane at this venue last year and were able to hold them off as the Lions came with a withering burst in the final term.  Something the Lions will be mindful of I’m sure.  But as I mentioned last week Brisbane need to keep winning to ensure a top two spot and I anticipate they will get the job done here.

Suggested Bet – Brisbane Win (Multi)

Fremantle v Collingwood

Sunday 22/5/22 @ Perth

Last 5 Encounters |  Fremantle 3 | Collingwood 2

Verdict

Collingwood started slowly last week against the Western Bulldogs and while the Pies showed glimpses the Bulldogs proved far too strong in the end running out 48 point winners.

Fremantle put in a rare poor performance on the Gold Coast.  It was a wet and slippery game and neither their midfield or forward line appeared to adapt at all well.

Collingwood will regain skipper Scott Pendlebury and possibly small forward Jamie Elliot – two key ins – but Fremantle have clearly been the better side all year and should be too strong at home.

Suggested Bet – Fremantle Win (Multi)
