Horse Racing in Singapore has a long and colorful history. The first horse race to take place was in February 1843 and was organised by the Singapore Sporting Club which was a recently formed group of racing enthusiasts.

Racing meets in Singapore are now conducted on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of each racing month. Horse Racing in Singapore is organised under the Malayan Racing Association (MRA) rules of Racing. The MRA is made up of four racing Clubs including, Singapore Turf Club, Selangor Turf Club, Perak Turf Club and Penang Turf Club.

Racing meets in Singapore are conducted on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year, with Friday racing typically held at night while the Saturday, Sunday races held during the daytime. Currently the biggest annual horse race is the the Singapore Airlines International Cup. In 2002 the Singapore Cup was included in the prestigious World Series Racing Championship making it one of the worlds premier Horse Races. Singapore Cup
Singapore Racecourse – Kranji:
The Singapore racecourse at Kranji is in the northern part of Singapore which is located about 20 kilometres from the city. It is a racecourse designed for champions with the best features from leading racecourses around the world being incorporated into the design.
It features a four storey Grandstand as the centerpiece of the new track which can accommodate up to 30,000 race goers at any one time.
