Rosehill races are run at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, which is run by the Sydney Turf Club. The biggest race day meeting held by the club is the Golden Slipper meeting when the world’s richest 2YO race for thoroughbreds takes place at Rosehill races.
The dash for cash was introduced in 1957 with the legendary Todman saluting the judge first. The Golden Slipper race has gone on to have a big bearing on the Australian Thoroughbred breeding industry with the majority of boom Golden Slipper runners going on to stand at stud, the most notable being Redoute’s Choice and the 1995 Golden Slipper winner Flying Spur.
