Hobart races are held at Elwick Racecourse or Tattersalls Park, as it is currently known due to the sponsorship deal. Hobart races at Elwick are hosted 36 times throughout the Tasmanian racing season.
The Hobart racecourse is one of three major Tasmanian racecourses the other two being the Launceston Racecourse and the Devonport Racecourse.
The Hobart Cup meeting is the biggest of the Tasmanian race days at Elwick Racecourse, which is also home to the Tasmanian Guineas and the Tasmanian Derby.
The Tasmanian Summer Carnival is the jewel in the crown for the Apple Isle with $3million in prizemoney on offer to entice Eastern State raiders to the Tasmanian racetracks.

Getting to Hobart Races
Hobart races at Elwick can be attended via public transport. The track is situated just 8 kilometres from the city centre so it’s a fairly short bus trip to the track. Hobart buses run on a regular basis on race days so anyone can get to the Hobart Racecourse if they wish to enjoy a day out at the races when visiting Tassie.
