The Group 3 $150,000 Hotel Grand Vo Rogue Plate over 1350 metres at Doomben Racecourse is a race for three-year-olds with colts and geldings carrying 56kg and fillies carrying 54 kg. There are 17 runners and the early market is quite open with Graceful Anna and Shootout as equal favourites at $4.20. Next are Princess Qualo and Umanugget both at $7.50, Choistar and Dual Chamber at $8.50, Captain Sonador at $9, Fifteen Carat at $15 and Spot on Target at $18.
Graceful Anna came 2nd at her first start as a two-year-old and then after spelling returned to win 3 in a row from 1000-1200m, all by good margins. Choistar came 2nd in the Doomben Slipper at this track and distance in May on a heavy track. Shootout was 1.8 lengths from the winner when returning from a spell on 12 December in a 1200 metre race. He ran on strongly at the end and this distance will suit him better.
