Randwick hosts a spectacular 9 event program this Saturday with four Group 1 races, a Group 2, a Group 3 and three listed races on the program.
The 2 main races of the day are the Doncaster and the Derby. The $1.8 million Group 1 Emirates Doncaster Handicap over 1600 metres has a full field of 20 plus three emergencies.
Early favourite is Forensics – the three year old filly won the Golden Slipper last year and has won her three starts this autumn but has history against her as no filly has ever won the Slipper and the Doncaster. She has drawn wide in barrier 17 but the going will almost certainly be rain affected so the barrier might not be so bad.
Hot Danish has drawn barrier one and has a great record with seven wins from nine starts. Serious Speed and Eskimo Queen are both fancied and Eskimo Queen is a proven mud runner.
The oldest in the field is seven-year-old Valedictum who was a barnstorming winner last week in the Royal Parma and is known to love soft going.
Jockey Glen Boss has ridden the winner of three of the last four Doncasters and will be on board the lightly-weighted Triple Honour who won four of his first five starts but has lost his early form.
