Makybe Diva Stakes – Flemington
Flemington has a great 9 race programme to start the Spring racing with three Group 2 races, a Group 3 race and a Listed race. The Group 2 $400,000 Makybe Diva Stakes is a standard weight-for-age race over 1600 metres and there are 12 runners. The favourite in the early market is Typhoon Tracy at $2.30. She is the only mare in the field and has won 5 of her 6 starts. On 15 August she ran 3rd in the Liston Stakes when resuming.

Next in the early market is Heart Of Dreams at $4.40, Predatory Pricer at $4.60, Vigor at $9 then Pacino, Zagreb and C’est La Guerre all at $18. Heart Of Dreams looked as if the extra 200 metres will suit when resuming in the Liston. Vigor goes well at Flemington and the distance suits. New Zealand horse Maco’Reilly ($51) is also capable of running a place.

Jo’s tips: 1. Heart Of Dreams, 2. Vigor, 3. Typhoon Tracy

Danehill Stakes – Flemington
There are eleven runners in the Group 2 $250,000 Danehill Stakes over 1200 metres. It is a set weights plus penalties race for three-year-olds and the short priced early favourite is Black Caviar at $1.70 with 3 classy wins from 3 starts. Next in the early market is Manhattan Rain at $6, Rarefied at $9, Rostova at $11 then Tollesprit and Grand Harmony both at $15.

This will be Black Caviar’s toughest test to date, but with the light weight she is capable of making it 4 runs for 4 wins. Manhattan Rain is a Group 1 winner and raced well with the top two-year-olds in the autumn and is expected to go well. Rarefied looked good winning the Up & Coming on 22 August.

Jo’s tips: 1. Black Caviar, 2. Manhattan Rain, 3. Rarefied

Chelmsford Stakes – Randwick
Randwick has an 8 race program with two Group 2 races, a Group 3 race and a Listed race. The Group 2 $150,000 Chelmsford Stakes over 1600 metres is a weight-for-age race for three-year-olds and upwards. With the early scratching of Dreamscape there will be 10 runners remaining.

The early favourite is O’Lonhro at $2.70, followed by Court Command and Triple Honour both at $4.60, Vision and Power at $7, Miss Marielle at $8 and Roman Emperor at $10. O’Lonhro has only 4 starts for 2 wins and 2 seconds and is race fit. Vision and Power is a Group 1 winner and Triple Honour was less than 2 lengths behind the winner when resuming on 15 August.

Jo’s tips: 1. O’Lonhro, 2. Vision and Power, 3. Triple Honour
