Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes – Moonee Valley
Moonee Valley has a 9 race programme with two Group 2 races and a Group 3 race. The Group 2 $500,000 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes is a standard weight-for-age race over 1600 metres and there are 13 runners. The favourite in the early market is Whobegotyou at $2.80 who has come second at his last 2 starts over 1400m and is looking for some extra distance.

Next in the early market is El Segundo at $3.60, Mic Mac at $3.80, Jolie’s Shinju at $8, Sea Battle at $17, Magical Pearl at $23 and Efficient at $26. Mic Mac has won 7 of his 8 starts including a win at WFA last start. He is facing his toughest test but is up to it. Whobegotyou will run well and Singapore trained Jolie’s Shinju has won by huge margins at her last 2 starts but has not carried much weight.

Jo’s tips: 1. Mic Mac, 2. Whobegotyou, 3. Jolie’s Shinju

Stocks Stakes – Moonee Valley
The Group 2 $200,000 Cleanevent Stocks Stakes over 1600 metres is a standard weight-for-age race for four-year-olds and upwards mares and there are 14 runners. The favourite in the early market is Zarita at $3.50 followed by Cats Whisker at $5, Gallica at $7, Miss Maren at $7.50, Marchelle Belle at $8.50, Sparkling Satine at $13 and With Apologies at $15.

Marchelle Belle won the Tasmanian Oaks in February and the 1600 m should really suit at this stage of her campaign, Cats Whisker has won both her starts this campaign, and Zarita is the quality mare in the field with over a million dollars in prizemoney.

Jo’s tips: 1. Marchelle Belle, 2. Cats Whisker, 3. Zarita

Theo Marks Stakes – Rosehill
Rosehill has an 8 race program with a Group 2 race and two Group 3 races. The Group 2 $200,000 Rydges Parramatta Theo Marks Stakes is a 1400 metre race for three-year-olds and upwards, and there is a field of eleven. In the early market Racing To Win and Triple Honour share favouritism at $4.40.

Next in the market are Mr Baritone and Dreamscape both at $5.50, Rock Kingdom at $6, Mentality at $10 then Bryannbo’s Gift and Friday Creek both at $13. Racing To Win has the topweight of 60kg which is 4 kg more than the second horse. However he does well at this track and distance and is capable of winning here. Mr Baritone wasn’t far away when third in the Warwick Stakes, and Friday Creek looked good winning at long odds at his last start.

Jo’s tips: 1. Racing To Win, 2. Mr Baritone, 3. Friday Creek
