The 2006/2007 Ashes series is sure to be another fierce battle between long time rivals, Australia and England fighting to retain the ‘Famous Little Urn’.
Australia’s test cricket team are confident of regaining the Ashes on home soil in Australia this summer. Ricky Ponting will lead a strong team including the likes of Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist against England, who will all be fired up to make amends for the loss during the last Ashes series.
The Australian cricket team’s confidence has been bolstered by their recent victory in India in the ICC Cup trophy in the lead up to the Ashes series.
England will be lead by Freddie Flintoff and will pull out all stops to try and retain the Ashes, although they will be facing an uphill battle away from their home turf. England’s test team includes some key players such as Kevin Pietersen, Ashley Giles and Steve Harmison and they are likely to use a 5 bowler line up.
The series kicks off at The Gabba in Brisbane on the 23 November 2006 and will conclude at the SCG in Sydney on the 6 January 2007.
