The Group 1 Darley Australian Cup is Australia’s Weight For Age Championship of the Autumn, with prizemoney of $AUD1,000,000 and trophies valued at $5,000. It is one of the VRC’s oldest races, having been first conducted in 1863. Last year the race was won by Pompeii Ruler. This year the 2000m race has attracted ten acceptors, headed by Princess Coup and Miss Finland, who won the Cadbury Guineas on this race day last year.
