As the premier spectator sport in one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities, Hong Kong horse racing is one of the biggest, most organised and competitive racing arenas anywhere in the world. Racing twice a week for over 40 weeks a year, usually on a Wednesday night and on Saturday or Sunday, the Hong Kong Jockey Club runs 78 meetings a season (from September to June) at two of the best equipped racecourses in the world - Shatin and Happy Valley.
