The AJC Australian Oaks is a 2400 metre race for three-year-old fillies at set weights run by the Australian Jockey Club. The race is held at Randwick on Doncaster Handicap Day in April.

The AJC Australian Oaks has changed its name and distance over the years, but can be traced back to 1885 when only two contestants, Uralla and Percussion, both owned by James White raced over 12 furlongs (about 2400 metres). Uralla won and the race was held annually up to 1894 mainly with small fields.

It was not run from 1895 to 1921 then was reintroduced in 1922 over 8 furlongs when Vodka was the winner. From 1946 to 1955 when it was known as the Adrian Knox Stakes the distance was increased to 10 furlongs then from 1956 it was held over 12 furlongs which became 2400 metres with the move to metric distances. It has been a Group 1 race since 1979.

Main lead-up races for the AJC Oaks are the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes and the Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes, both over 2000 metres. All entrants carry 56kg in the race and whoever wins becomes instantly more valuable as a broodmare prospect. Oaks Day is also referred to as Ladies Day with fashion events for racegoers.
